~What are authentic collars made of?

Authentic CATS collars are made from a leather or vinyl base, supported by loops on the unitard.  In some productions, such as Moscow, collars are sewn onto the neck of the costume.  Authentic collars are decorated with spikes, jewels, studs, and pearls.  Some collars, belonging to characters such as Jellylorum, are made of either rope or braided nylon.


~My collar is heavy.  What can I do?  

Heavy collars may become uncomfortable if you are wearing your costume for a prolonged amount of time.  Start with a lighter base material if you are sensitive to weight or will be moving excessively (i.e. dancing, walking) while in character.
