Want to commission a costume or
costume piece? Here's the place to do it!
Sometimes
you may not have the time to complete a CATS costume on your own, or
perhaps you feel as though you don't have the skill. Perhaps you
admire a particular costumer's work and would enjoy owning one of his
or
her pieces. In any of these circumstances, commissioning a full,
partial, or piece of a costume is a wonderful way to give your costume
that extra-special touch! |
 |
- The most important rule: do not commission a costumer unless you can
solidly commit to follow through with the purchase. To
prevent this, many costumers require at least half of the payment up
front. This is an acceptable practice and in no way implies that
the costumer believes you will not pay.
- Do not ask for a past costume piece that a
costumer has made.
If it is not listed for sale on his or her website, it is most
likely
not for sale. Costumers value each piece they make because of the
time, effort, and skill involved, and often do not appreciate it being
asked for.
- Provide a detailed description of the item you
would like. Simply requesting a "pair of Tugger shoes" will
rarely suffice. Costumers love details (the more the better!) and
if you include pictures, you'll earn yourself a gold star!
- Do not send frequent emails to the costumer.
He or she will contact you along the way with updates.
- Do not expect that
your costume piece will be
finished several days after you inquire. Nearly all costumers
work on their items in their spare time as a hobby, not a regular job.
A good costumer will provide you with a time quote at the time of
your inquiry.

- A good costumer will provide you with the
following:
- Frequent emails with the status of your
commission
- Photographs before it is sent to you
